Used for passive reception of information, the traditional television embodies the one-way communication from top-down corporate interests to the masses. In celebration of the reversal of this polarity, the GreenTV is an art installation that combines traditional technologies in order to create a new experience. The piece uses a 300-year-old stage illusion to create a hologram effect within this other outmoded technology--the cathode ray tube, box-shaped television.  The subject matter of the video explores the intersection of naturalism and folklore, and suggests a more fluid boundary between scientific and pre-scientific worldviews.
